it only happens when the market gaps up or down from friday's close on sunday evening ( US Eastern time ).

This is one of my favorate trades to take.

A little somthing some people may not know about Forex open.
Not all FX brokers open at the same time. For intance OANDA opens 12:00pm pst, EFX opens 2:00pm pst and Alpari opens 3:00 pm pst (pst is Pacific coast time).
Now that we know that we can see the gap form with the open of Oanda to the Open of Alpari. If there is going to be a gap you will most likely see price move on Oanda untill about 2:00pm pst (most brokers open at this time) then you can take a trade but if price looks to be moving more in the same direction to create more gap wait for Alpari open 3:00pm pst to see if you can get a larger gap to trade.

Just a little trick I learned hope it helps others.

Gap trade this week made 80 pips on GBP/JPY. Makes for a great start for the week.

Congrats Numb3rs! Do you know while I was watching TV and I saw a drama series title "Numb3rs" and I thought I saw it before and so this nick was indeed used by you.

By the way, if you can, maybe you can come up with a pictorial illustration so you can share more with other traders.

Saw your pic very nice trade and colorful indicator at the bottom.

The bottom indicator is Market Hours indicator. You can set it in the inputs to match your broker time. I will attach it for anyone who wants it.

Thats strange I just tried downloading it and it came in mq4 format and it looks just fine.

Hi knicknack, right click and save the file. If you click it, I think firefox will display the code in html format. Hope this helps. Let us know again. Thanks.

i can download it now but i can't seem to attach it to the chart, i tried it on different broker platform...any idea? i saved it under indicators folder as with the rest of the custom indicators...

When you double-click the indicator, you should see something like this:

Ok I can.

Each colour is a different session and you can set each session in the inputs as you see fit.

Use the maket hours clock I have attached here to help you set the indicator to your particular broker time on the chart. Or, if you cant get the indicator to work for some reason, you can use the clock in its place.
